Where to Eat Vegan in Charlotte
Six plant-based stops, from NoDa and Camp North End to University City and south Charlotte, with practical advice for choosing a meal and checking the latest menus.
Start with the part of town you're visiting
Charlotte's vegan choices are spread across the city. For a meal in NoDa, start with Oh My Soul. At Camp North End, look for Soul Miner's Garden. Bean Vegan Cuisine is on East Independence Boulevard, while Mike's Vegan Grill has a Charlotte location on East McCullough Drive. Farther south, Ma Ma Wok and Sanctuary Bistro offer two different ways to plan a sit-down meal or takeout.
These are six starting points, rather than a ranking or a complete list. Open a restaurant's listing for its address and website, then check the current menu and hours before setting out. The full Charlotte directory below includes both fully vegan places and restaurants with vegan options.
NoDa: Oh My Soul
Oh My Soul's NoDa restaurant is at 3046 North Davidson Street. Its website describes a vegan menu with waffles, wraps, burgers and pastries, with dine-in, takeout and delivery available. It is a useful starting point when you want several kinds of plant-based food on the same menu.
This recommendation is for the North Davidson Street restaurant. When checking directions or ordering, select the NoDa location so that you arrive at the place described here.
Camp North End: Soul Miner's Garden
Soul Miner's Garden is a vegan food vendor at Camp North End, at 1801 North Graham Street, Suite 101. The venue's tenant page highlights loaded nachos, mushroom sandwiches, fries and collard greens. Treat it as a stop within the larger Camp North End site when planning your visit.
Year-end departure announced: the restaurant's own website says it will operate at its current location only through the end of the year. This Camp North End recommendation is for 2026 visits; for 2027 or later, confirm its current location directly before using this address. Check the vendor's schedule, since Camp North End's opening times do not mean every vendor is serving.
East Independence: Bean Vegan Cuisine
Bean Vegan Cuisine describes its food as 100% vegan comfort food. Its website lists burgers, breakfast dishes, barbecue and buffalo-style fingers among the choices. The Charlotte listing is on East Independence Boulevard; use it to check the address and current restaurant website.
Bean is a starting point for familiar comfort-food dishes without having to build a meal out of substitutions. Check which dishes are available when you visit rather than assuming every item pictured online is on today's menu.
University City: Mike's Vegan Grill
Mike's Vegan Grill lists its Charlotte restaurant at 440 East McCullough Drive, Suite 123. It also has restaurants elsewhere in North Carolina, so select Charlotte when checking hours or placing an order. The restaurant describes its food as vegan and advertises plant-based takes on familiar comfort food.
Use the Charlotte listing for directions and the restaurant's own site for current offerings. An online menu or schedule for another branch may not describe this location.
South Charlotte: Chinese food or a bistro dinner
Ma Ma Wok, at 11914 Elm Lane, Suite 100, describes an entirely plant-based Chinese menu, including General Tso's dishes, lo mein and wontons. Its site offers pickup and delivery ordering. Check the service schedule before heading out, since takeout hours can include a break between lunch and dinner.
Sanctuary Bistro is on Rea Road. Its dinner menu states that all dishes are vegan and gluten-free, and recommends reservations. It is a different kind of plan from a quick takeout stop: check the current seasonal menu and arrange a table directly with the restaurant. The kitchen also uses nuts, so discuss allergies with the staff rather than treating a vegan or gluten-free label as an allergy guarantee.
Using the rest of the directory
Choose the 100% Vegan filter on the Charlotte restaurant page to start with fully vegan listings. Choose Vegan options when you want to look beyond those kitchens. For those places, ask about the complete dish: broth, sauces, dairy, eggs and toppings can change whether a meal is vegan.
Menus, opening hours and locations change. This guide is based on the restaurant and venue pages linked below, checked on October 4, 2026. Recheck them before a special trip, and use Add a restaurant to tell us about a place or correction we should review.
