November 1
World Vegan Day: where to eat vegan
World Vegan Day falls on November 1 every year. The easiest way to mark it is a meal out, so here is where the Vegaholic directory can send you: a 100% vegan kitchen near you, and the data on where they are.
551
fully vegan kitchens
213
cities with at least one
28,992
vegan dishes on 1,091 menus we’ve checked
Counted from the directory today. Fully vegan means the listing is marked 100% vegan; we have not inspected kitchens. Dish counts cover menus we have read, and include only dishes the restaurant marks vegan or vegan on request (every dish, at a fully vegan kitchen that does not mark them).
Start with a 100% vegan kitchen
Nothing to ask about and nothing to check: every dish is vegan. Browse every 100% vegan kitchen, look at the map, or search for a dish like a burger or ramen and see who serves it near you.

The data, for writers
From State of Vegan Dining 2026, edition of September 30, 2026 (a dated edition, so figures stay checkable after the directory changes), ranked by fully vegan kitchens per capita:
- Washington, D.C. leads with 8.54 fully vegan kitchens per million residents, ahead of Oregon (4.21).
- Seattle has the most fully vegan kitchens per resident among cities of 100,000 or more with at least three: 28 in that edition (3.59 per 100,000 residents).
- 13 of the 51 states and D.C. have none mapped. A low count can mean no one has mapped the place yet.
The method, both ranking tables as CSV downloads and a chart that is free to use with credit are on the full report.
No vegan restaurant nearby?
Most of the directory is restaurants marked Vegan Options: not fully vegan, but with plant-based dishes on the menu. Browse by state, or read how to find vegan restaurants anywhere. Trying vegan for longer? See the Veganuary guide.
