Vegan Denver: Where to Eat Plant-Based

Cupcakes and a vegetarian café on East 13th Avenue, wings at WaterCourse, sushi on Colfax, a South Broadway dinner restaurant and vegan burgers.

Breakfast, cake and an evening out

Among Denver's all-vegan restaurants you can cover the whole day: a bakery, a breakfast restaurant that is open every morning, burger counters, a sushi bar and a dinner restaurant. The Cake Bar and the vegetarian City O' City share East 13th Avenue.

East 13th Avenue and Capitol Hill

City O' City on East 13th Avenue, in Capitol Hill, is a vegetarian café that stays open from early morning to late night in the hours we have listed, with Seitan Wings, Biscuit and Gravy and Chicken and Waffles among its vegan dishes. The Cake Bar, also on East 13th Avenue, is a fully vegan bakery with Jumbo Cupcakes, Cake in a Cup, Oatmeal Cream Pies and a gluten-free cupcake of the day; it is closed on Mondays.

WaterCourse Foods on East 17th Avenue is fully vegan and open every day from early morning, with a Breakfast Platter, French Toast, a Smothered Burrito, Biscuits and Gravy, Seitan Wings and Cauliflower Wings.

Dinner and sushi

Somebody People on South Broadway is a fully vegan dinner restaurant, serving Tuesday through Sunday in the hours we have listed, with Bread Service, a Heirloom Cucumber Salad, a Mixed Grill, Corn Tubetti and a Primavera. Wellness Sushi on East Colfax Avenue is a fully vegan sushi restaurant with Avocado Crispy Rice, a Krunchy Krab roll and a Kakiage Supreme Roll.

Burgers and fast food

Meta Burger on East Mississippi Avenue and Next Level Burger on East Evans Avenue are both fully vegan burger restaurants. Big Back Vegan at Akente Express on Park Avenue West is fully vegan too, and Vegan Van on Elati Street has takeout and outdoor seating.

Vegan sections worth a detour

Root Down on West 33rd Avenue has dishes that can be made vegan, including Smoked Carrots, Sweet Potato Tots and a Lion's Mane Steak. The Corner Beet on Ogden Street serves a Thai Peanut Salad and an Old School Avocado Toast, plus dishes such as the Beirut Plate and Greek Salad that can be made vegan, and The Pizza Bar on Larimer Street has a Jalapeno Popper Pizza and a BBQ Jackfruit Pizza.

Spice Room on West 38th Avenue serves Lasuni Gobi, Mushroom Manchurian and Onion Bhaji, and Kahlo's Mexican Restaurant on Morrison Road offers Chilaquiles Rojos o Verdes, nachos and a Tostada de Aguacate.

Where a restaurant isn't fully vegan, the dishes we name are ones its menu marks vegan or vegan on request, so confirm with staff when you order. Menus and hours change, so check before you go. Know a spot we're missing? Suggest it.
